Up to 75 % time savig in comparison
Compared to conventional metal cannulas, the time saved during injection of silicone oils using the polyimide cannulas (PI) is considerably higher. Various silicone oils by Fluoron were used to determine the injection time.
The results show that, on average, the same amount of oil can be injected in just 1/4 of the conventional time. Consequently surgeons can increase the efficiency of silicone oil injection (and also aspiration).
